Expo Osaka 2025 is an "extraordinary window" to take advantage of international visibility, favouring economic agreements, to boost Italian exports and become a driving force for foreign investments in Italy, Commissioner General Mario Vattani said during the first institutional visit to the construction site of the Italian Pavilion organized for the international press.
"Let's think that 10 years since Milan's Expo, Italy wants to keep talking about nutrition and conditions of development, agriculture and new products", said Ambassador Vattani, the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka.
"We talk about the theme of 'Italian know how' because we believe that sustainability is not only reached with practices, consumption methods or different energies, but also with inventiveness, and with innovative choices, in planning and taking action".
Italy's is the largest national pavilion entirely built in wood, stressed Vattani, defining it "an act of friendship with Japan", because the line of sustainability was chosen after talks with the organizing committee, and also thanks to the cooperation with two Japanese companies - Nomura and Nishio.
The agreement signed in March with Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor Massimiliano Fedriga, who visited Osaka also as President of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, goes in this direction, favouring in particular the attraction of investments through the format Selecting Italy.
Weekly events will be dedicated to Italian regions, also explained Vattani, and thanks to the cooperation with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Japanese companies that have invested in Italy will be invited to share their experiences.
Fedriga stressed the strategic and fundamental nature of the country, starting from the knowledge of territories, addressing a large crowd of local reporters.
"We would like it not only to be Italy's home, but also Japan's home, and of the very close relationship connecting the two countries", he said.
