A removable defibrillator was implanted Tuesday under the skin of the chest of Edoardo Bove after the 22-year-old Fiorentina and Italy Under-21 midfielder collapsed 16 minutes into the first half of Fiorentina's home game against Inter Milan on December 1, causing the match to be called off.
Regarding the operation which is considered routine, the Viola have not yet issued an official statement as it is still waiting for all the necessary communications to take stock of the situation.
The operation was carried out by the arrhythmology department of Florence's Careggi hospital after the Viola player, who is on loan from AS Roma, was rushed to hospital with chest pains and spasms, having lost consciousness.
Fiorentina announced that, since it is a removable defibrillator, Bove will be able to decide in the future whether to keep it or remove it.
In the meantime, the countdown to his discharge from the hospital has begun, which should take place between Thursday and Saturday, and his teammates, along with coach Raffaele Palladino, can't wait to "hug him at Viola Park," the Tuscan club said.
There is also anticipation for the results of the numerous tests carried out in recent days to try to understand the causes of the problem that put his life in danger.
